|FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 8th April 2019|
Skin Allergy Epidemic linked to Everyday Cosmetics.
Latest cutting-edge research reveals link between exposure to chemical ingredients in most cosmetics and ill health in the Western world.
For the first time, clinical trials have shown how regular use of everyday cosmetics damages the skin, by repressing the microbiome.
Working in partnership with the Medical University of Graz, skin health pioneers JooMo are involved in a major ongoing study to determine whether everyday cosmetics really are behind the enormous rise in skin allergy problems in the western world.
A peer-reviewed paper has just been published in scientific journal Cosmetics, and reveals how high street cosmetics appear to maintain the depleted western microbiome, while third wave microbiome friendly products like JooMo greatly increase skin microbiome biodiversity (biodiversity being the definitive measure of skin health).
Everyday cosmetics were also shown to have more of a de-moisturising effect on the skin, a key reason why skin becomes damaged. Again by contrast, third wave technology in JooMo meant that it maintained the most moisture on the skin.
Kit Wallen Russell – research coordinator and lead author of the this new research paper The Role of Every-Day Cosmetics in Altering the Skin Microbiome: A Study Using Biodiversity‘ – describes the significance of these results:
“The terrifying rise in skin allergies has led many to speculate whether regular contact with everyday cosmetics are a major contributor to this problem.”
“These results, coupled with other complementary research, are now suggesting a definitive link.”
Kit goes on to say that this should not really come as any great surprise – after all, the food industry has been restricting the use of additives for many decades:
“Cosmetics consumers are finally cottoning on to the fact that covering their bodies with harsh unfamiliar chemicals every day probably isn’t a good idea.”
“These results show how the cosmetics industry must urgently introduce the same safety standards as the food industry, including the ending of misleading labelling and the severe restriction in the use of chemical additives.”
JooMo are continuing their working partnership with the Medical University of Graz, and the next phase of the ongoing skin microbiome study will continue in the coming weeks.

Notes to Editors
Motivated by the scandal of the developed world’s skin disease epidemic with a 500% increase in childhood skin problems (eczema, allergies, acne, etc), JooMo have invented and developed the World’s First Ever 100% truly natural preservative free face wash.
Their ‘Third Wave’ skin microbiome friendly products repair the damage caused by normal skin care products, and focus on empowering, not changing, the skin’s natural environment, protecting it against the destructive work of harmful synthetic chemicals and opportunistic pathogenic microbes.
Appalled at the dishonesty of the so-called ‘natural’ cosmetics industry, Linda Russell, Nick Wallen and their twin sons Sam & Kit used this industry redefining technology to co-found Award Winning British success story JooMo Ltd.
